· can you put water in coolant tank or not (Photo Source: popsci) 2. Consequences Of Using Water Instead Water. The above section explains why using water as coolant is a bad idea. What you may be wondering now is what could possibly go wrong, if you use water. Ask, what might not go wrong, as it is the engine that you would be harming.
Send message »Step 2 - Add Antifreeze. Once the lines and boiler are drained, add only mobile home antifreeze to the system. Close the water valve near the boiler that feeds house water into your boiler system. Find a location for the antifreeze to be forced into system, possibly the boiler drain valve. Begin to pump antifreeze into the boiler. It will take.
Send message »All of the water tanks are susceptible to freezing. It's pretty easy though to keep the gray and black tanks from doing so as you can simply put some antifreeze down the drain of the shower and you'll be fine. The reason you can't do this with the fresh water tank is because well, you shouldn't be drinking antifreeze!.
Send message »· Combine low water levels, the fast rotating action of the impeller, and 60 to 80 minutes of wash time typical of HE top-loaders, and you have a perfect setting for tangled-up laundry.

What I find is that they do not make a substatial difference in lower the overall temperature but more importantly they make the cooling system more effective overall
· Many mistakenly believe that because salt is added to water softeners, then softened water must contain salt, a substance of course known to be very corrosive. Nothing could be further from the truth. The salt you add to a water softener is NaCl, or sodium chloride. During the softening process, only the sodium ion is exchanged into the water.

There may still be water in the tank which isn't good to have. So you can use water or air to flush the tank. This flushing will help get all the water out. Something that may help with draining is getting an RV water heater tank flusher tool. This tool can hook up to a hose and reduces the amount of water needed to flush out the water heater.

· De-ionied and distilled water were called "aggressive water" by the water doctors at where I worked. Look at the corrosion test results above. Aerated water or coolant is not good either, it just gobbles up the corrosion inhibitor. Avoid peeking in the radiator more than necessary, it lets air in that is absorbed in the solution.
Send message »· Coolant, also known as radiator fluid and antifreeze, is vital for the hydration of the cooling system and the vehicle. Mechanical failures in the cooling system are one of the main reasons cars break down on the highways. Monitoring its level and condition is a part of the regular maintenance of the vehicle. Generally, there should be a leak.
Send message »You use the same thing all year long. If you should have a leak, well in this time of the year, you could add a little bit of water to top it off in an emergency, as long as you get the leak repaired and get the proper concentration- 50% coolant, 50% distilled water- back in the car as soon as you possibly can.
Send message »· Add a couple of quarts to your black-water holding tank by pouring it down the toilet. Do the same for your gray-water holding tank by pouring it down the shower/tub drain. The exact amount of antifreeze will depend on the size of your tanks and how much they contain. Added waste will eventually dilute the antifreeze past the point of.
Send message »There are two problems with using water as ballast. First, expansion during freezing can separate the tire from the rim. Second, there are heavier liquids that provide better traction. Antifreeze. Given water's vulnerability at low temperatures, antifreeze is a logical alternative. Use pet ….
Send message »· Whether you know it as coolant or antifreeze, this product is really just an additive that when mixed with water serves to broaden the range at which that water will freeze and boil. Pure coolant has none of these properties, but it becomes a magical elixir for your engine's cooling system when it is mixed with water ….
Send message »The key here is to add the right mix of antifreeze and water and do not mix different antifreeze together. The next thing to check here is why is your cooling system leaking coolant. If this happens once and your refill holds then you probably do not have a problem and maybe just had a cooling system air pocket.
Send message »Fill your reservoir with antifreeze up to the FULL line at the middle of the plastic tank, you don't have to add water, because the water will evaporate in a few days and what is left is antifreeze which will not evaporate. Don't open the radiator.
Send message »Water is a better coolant than antifreeze 50/50 and who cares about the rust? It seals cracks and leaks. Why bother restoring an engine to the nines so that even the correct police won't comment and then add a glaring green twenty-first century coolant.
Send message »· Mix water with antifreeze in a 50/50 ratio to prevent your ballast from weighing down your tractor when temperatures drop. Choose non-toxic antifreeze in case your ballast leaks and comes in contact with plants or animals. Antifreeze can keep liquid ballast from ….
Send message »Step 2: Bypass your hot water heater. There's no need to add antifreeze to the hot water heater, fresh water tank, or grey and black water holding tanks. They're already drained, so there's plenty of room for any remaining liquid that might freeze. In the waterlines themselves, though, there's no room to expand.

Send message »Water is corrosive. You will shorten your engine's life if you don't add antifreeze. Antifreeze, on top of everything else it does, also acts as a rust inhibitor. Yes, you can run straight water, but your coolant boiling point will be lower AND you'll corrode the inside of your engine and destroy your water pump.

After a few minutes, you should notice the color of the water coming out of the nozzles to be more consistent with the color you poured into the tank.
